Unit I: Number Systems (10 Marks)

1. Real Numbers

  • Representation of natural numbers, integers, rational numbers on the number line.
  • Terminating & non-terminating recurring decimals.
  • Existence of irrational numbers (e.g., √2, √3).
  • nth root of a real number.
  • Rationalization of expressions like ( 1/{a + b√x} ) and ( 1/{√x + √y} ).
  • Laws of exponents with integral & rational powers.

✔ Differentiates rational & irrational numbers.
✔ Represents numbers on a number line.
✔ Simplifies expressions using rationalization.


Unit II: Algebra (20 Marks)

1. Polynomials

  • Definitions (degree, types—linear, quadratic, cubic).
  • Zeroes of a polynomial.
  • Remainder & Factor Theorem.
  • Factorization of polynomials.
  • Algebraic identities (e.g., ((x+y+z)2), (x3 + y3)).

2. Linear Equations in Two Variables

  • Introduction to (ax + by + c = 0).
  • Graphical representation & solutions.

✔ Factorizes polynomials using identities.

Unit III: Coordinate Geometry (4 Marks)

  • Cartesian plane, coordinates, plotting points.
