This type of respiration occurs when oxygen supply to muscles is insufficient, leading to the incomplete breakdown of glucose, resulting in the production of lactic acid. Unlike aerobic respiration, anaerobic respiration doesn't require oxygen and is less efficient, leading to the buildup of lactic acid and causing muscle fatigue and cramps.

27. a. Hypermetropia.
Causes of hypermetropia:
- The focal length of the eye lens is too long.
- The eyeball has become too small.
This defect can be corrected by using a convex lens of appropriate power. Eye-glasses with converging lenses provide the additional focussing power required for forming the image on the retina.
