Unit I: Number Systems (6 Marks)
1. Real Numbers
- Fundamental Theorem of Arithmetic: Finding HCF and LCM using prime factorization.
- Proving irrationality of numbers like √2, √3, √5.
- Real-life applications of these concepts.
Unit II: Algebra (20 Marks)
2. Polynomials
- Finding zeros of polynomials (especially quadratic).
- Relationship between zeros and coefficients (e.g., sum and product of roots).
- Graphical and algebraic methods.
3. Pair of Linear Equations in Two Variables
- Graphical solution: Consistent or inconsistent systems.
- Algebraic methods: Substitution and Elimination.
- Solving real-life situational problems.
4. Quadratic Equations
- Standard form: ax² + bx + c = 0 (a ≠ 0).
- Solving by factorization and quadratic formula.
- Nature of roots using discriminant (D = b² - 4ac).
- Real-life word problems.
5. Arithmetic Progressions (AP)
- Understanding AP and its terms.
- nth term formula: aₙ = a + (n-1)d.
- Sum of n terms: Sₙ = n/2 [2a + (n-1)d].
- Applications in daily life (e.g., savings, steps).
Unit III: Coordinate Geometry (6 Marks)
